Recall

This project, Recall, is a visual representation of dreams and dream recall. Research has shown that if an individual practices dream recall in their daily life, they can better improve their overall mental health. Covid-19 has left a large majority of Americans in isolation, which is proven to lead to mental health issues. Dream recall is one of the best ways that one can reflect on their mental health while in isolation. The project Recall is designed to demonstrate the best ways to recall your dreams. Each layer represents dream recall abilities at each stage of sleep. A full sleep cycle has 5 different stages, this is represented through using multiple layers of semi-transparent fabric. Reports show that waking up during the REM cycle is the most effective way to remember dreams. Dream retention declines in each of the sleep stages following REM sleep.
